Sculpture-humour-Elvis: This handmade sculpture is one of my entertaining ideas –
A kind of homage to Elvis Presley’s song “Blue Suede Shoes.”
I was searching YouTube and came across Elvis.
Singing this song about not stepping on his shoes!
I found that the song was full of humour, comical.
There he is with a guitar, gyrating his hips with a kind of sexy smile; singing about his shoes!
As well as that I was thinking; I wonder if he thought the lyrics were funny as well?
Deciding to use the reaction I experienced to the song.
This being the catalyst to proceed to interpret my response.
Not wanting to make an accurate representation of his handsome face; “a literal copy.”
Just a character wearing blue shoes.
Incorporating sterling silver ants to relate the title I have chosen.
Proceeding forwards, six ants with one purpose.
That being to climb over the shoes posing a problem, in order to reach a destination.
who knows where?
I will leave that for you to determine.
My homage to Elvis Presley’s “Blue Suede Shoes.”
King of rock and roll.
If your a fan of Elvis I hope you appreciate my sculpture; love to hear your memories of his blue shoes song?

These whimsical sculptures:
Conjure that irrepressible childlike spirit.
Structures are representational with much detail, while others are freely interpreted designs.
Dorienne pays close attention to detail in all that she creates.
Dorienne’s curiosity has led her to some unique experiments
Tapped into the spirit that compels her to create.
Each character is a tangible figment of her imagination, painstakingly detailed.
My main objective is a recognisable face. It doesn’t have to be exactly “human” that’s not my aim.
My passions are capturing an expression, a feeling.”
Because my first sculptures were of goblins people thought that was all I did.
I put the goblins away when I stopped making bronzes
