My Artistic Journey as a Ceramic Artist

From a very young age, I found joy and freedom in creating with clay and paint.

Art gave me a way to express myself when words were not enough.

I studied at Byam Shaw School of Art and later at Hatfield University, where I focused on sculpture.

My tutor encouraged me to work independently, calling me a natural, which helped build my confidence and shaped my unique artistic voice.

Early in my career, I created hand-painted Vue d’optique artworks, which I successfully sold in Covent Garden.

This experience led to many exhibitions and expanded my practice into oil painting and watercolours.

My work has never been confined to a single medium; instead, I follow the process that feels right and meaningful for each piece.

Later, I explored mould-making and bronze casting, even travelling to Portugal to have some sculptures cast.

Sadly, the foundry I trusted took my deposit and my work, leaving me devastated and empty-handed. However, this painful experience pushed me fully into ceramics — a medium that now feels like my true home.

Working with clay allows me to combine all the elements I love: character, humour, realism, and imagination.

Every sculpture is hand-built using traditional ceramic methods, never cast or mass-produced.

I work with both earthenware and stoneware, often incorporating found objects like driftwood, pinecones, or wire to enhance each unique piece.

Over the years, my sculptures have won multiple international awards, including four 1st Place prizes, a Special Mention at the Terevarna Competition, and several Honourable Mentions from Art Show International Galleries.

Today, Artdor Gallery is my creative studio and home — a place where stories take shape in clay and imagination comes alive.
